Guest Services

Rebuilding our Ushers, Coffee and Hospitality Teams. For the past two years we’ve essentially had one team of dedicated volunteers on Sunday, welcoming and seating those registered for services. With the removal of COVID restrictions and capacities in March, we held a training lunch for new and existing team members, to cast vision, rebuild our teams, review emergency procedures and provide a walkthrough courtesy of Ivan & Brad. Within a few weeks, we had 3 ushers teams and even more new recruits!

Special thanks to Doug, Ivan, Brad, Shaya, Ron & Sandra. For seeing us through 2 long years of limited seating! You showed genuine courtesy and care in helping people, and your consistency in being there from Sunday to Sunday brought a level of comfort and stability to many who attended our services. The LORD bless you!

Ivan began re-scheduling coffee teams in March. Thanks to all of the volunteers who make it possible to enjoy freshly-brewed coffee on Sunday mornings. One person noted that having java back in the Hubs made it “smell like church” again. Amen to that!

Donna began re-scheduling hospitality teams in June. Again, a heartfelt “Thank you” to all those who are saying “Yes” to greeting our guests, newcomers and regular attenders. Your smile and friendliness really goes a long, long way to making people feel home at Hillcrest! If anyone is interested in joining our ushers, coffee or hospitality teams, please contact us here or visit our webpage for ways you to serve with us.

Thanks to Linda for her administrative support. She has been a marvellous help to me, keeping track of schedules, contacting volunteers, ordering Communion supplies, and in general keeping me updated on items that require my attention.
