our Missions Focus for NOVEMber 2024
WHAT WE DO:
The Bible translation task is down to under 1000 languages needing to start a New Testament translation. This map shows the remaining work to be done and you’ll also recognize it as the 10/40 window.
The 10/40 window is the location of most of the geo-political unrest in the world.
However, by working wisely with the local church, assisting local translators and with the use of modern technology, the work continues even in these difficult areas. In fact the pace of Bible translation starts and completions is even speeding up!
We recently heard a message on Acts 13 that focused on how the local church in Antioch, in sending out Paul and Barnabas, believed that they were serving the local church, because every church is local somewhere ….. so even though Paul and Barnabas were sent away, they were encouraging or establishing a local church wherever they were ministering. We know that when sermons and the Gospel are shared in the local language the meaning becomes clear. More people attend church services because now they can hear God’s Word in the language they understand best. We believe there is no better way to serve the local church than to provide them the Scriptures in their language. We are excited about having a part in this ministry.
Personally we are currently at an impasse and need to improve our financial support level. We’re asking you to prayerfully consider joining our support team, to work together with us to serve the Bibleless people groups of the world. We appreciate your prayerful consideration of helping us serve local churches worldwide that are still waiting for God’s Word in their language
