“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send?
And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!””
our Missions Focus for JUNE 2026
This is the Impact camp has on both campers
and workers alike!
Hillcrest is working with Whispering Pines Camp to help see our church's young people become great leaders. One of the key ways we do this is through our
Summer Worker’s Assistance Program (SWAP)
which partners with Whispering Pines Camp to help cultivate skills and a heart for leadership. If you're interested in serving at the camp, you can apply directly through Whispering Pines, and they will inform us of any applicants connected to Hillcrest Church.
Young Life has been active in Medicine Hat since Johnny and his wife Roniya moved to Medicine Hat in January 2025 to begin building the ministry. Because Young Life is still relatively new in our city, much of our focus has been on building relationships, recruiting and training volunteer leaders, partnering with local churches, connecting with schools, and earning the trust of young people in the community.
Even in this short time, we've seen God move in incredible ways. We know over 50 teens by name and are in regular relationships with more than half of them. We have an active presence in two local high schools, primarily Medicine Hat High School and Crescent Heights High School, where we spend time getting to know students, supporting school events, and showing up consistently in their lives.
As a church, one of the most significant ways you can partner with us is through prayer. We have a prayer team and a newsletter that keep supporters informed about what God is doing among teenagers in Medicine Hat and provide specific ways to pray. We would love to connect anyone who is interested to those updates.
Beyond prayer, there are opportunities to support the ministry financially, help provide hospitality for events, serve on our local committee, or explore volunteering directly with young people. Ultimately, our vision is to see every adolescent in Medicine Hat have the opportunity to know a caring adult and hear the good news of Jesus, and we believe that happens best when the local church and ministries like Young Life work together.
