AGM – FINANCE DIRECTOR UPDATE

“For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.” – Psalm 100:11

Welcome to the Finance Recap of 2025!  We’re excited to share the highlights with you as well as invite you to our AGM on June 07 to hear more details of this report and much more that God is doing in our church!

This year we’re reintroducing a familiar way of presenting the expenses of our Primary and Missions Funds—a snapshot organized by “zones.” Having used this approach in the past, this visual breakdown once again helps illustrate the various areas of our ministry and how our expenses are distributed across them.

PRIMARY FUND -- (General Fund)

2025 continued strong and faithful giving throughout the year.  This growth again reflected an increase in Sunday attendance and participation in our weekly Bible studies.

  • Donations (Growth):
    • Up 4% from 2024
    • Up 10% from 2023

Our 2025 budget continued to reflect a strong commitment to strengthening and supporting ministry through intentional staffing. This included the addition of a Legacy Pastor, the transition of a part-time to full-time Executive Pastor role, and the hiring of a Children’s Director along with a Children’s Ministry Assistant—key roles that have helped further support and grow our ministries.

We were also grateful to receive funding through Canada Summer Jobs once again, which provided the opportunity to hire one full-time summer student specifically supporting our Children’s Ministry. This was a great blessing and a meaningful addition to the team during the summer months.

Overall, 2025 has been a year of continued provision and investment in people, as we seek to faithfully steward what God has entrusted to us.

MISSIONS FUND

Our Missions Fund continues to support both our long-term Missions Partners and local outreach initiatives.
You can explore the incredible work of all our Missions Partners by visiting the “Missions” section on our website.

With a continued desire to invest in our children, youth, and young adults, we entered the second year of our Outreach Leadership Program, which supports young people serving in leadership roles at Whispering Pines Camp. This year, 13 students participated in the program, and we were once again encouraged by the letters and testimonies we received—sharing how God was working in their lives and through their service.

We are grateful for the opportunity to continue building into the next generation of leaders and to see this program growing and bearing fruit in our community.

Community Care Fund

(Subcategory of Missions)

An ever-loved portion of the Missions Fund, our Community Care ministry focuses on our Furniture Ministry, palliative gift- bags, and community assistance as needed for those facing unexpected or urgent needs.

Our Furniture Ministry continues to be in high demand, reflecting the ongoing need in our city. We do our best to connect with all the requests, and we feel deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve in such a practical and meaningful way.

With the generous support throughout 2025, the Furniture Team made over 380 stops in our community this year (an increase of more than 30 locations!) connecting with those offering or receiving items and blessing countless households along the way.

God’s love was extended to many individuals and families, including those who may have never stepped inside a church, and who were deeply grateful for the support they received.

CAPITAL FUND

This year marked the second year of our WELCOME HOME campaign, as we continue to honour and care for the building God has entrusted to us.

In 2025, several important projects were completed throughout the facility. We installed a new office telephone system, replacing the original system that had faithfully served the church for nearly 40 years. We also supported the gym with two much-needed new speakers, replacing the prior ones that had reached the end of their lifespan.

Another significant project this year was the renovation of the Hub 1 washroom area. This included creating a new doorless entrance and fully repairing and retiling the men’s side. Plans are already underway to complete the women’s side renovation in 2026.

As always, we continue to monitor and prioritize capital projects each year.  Through it all, we remain grateful for this incredible building we get to call home, and we continue to seek God’s wisdom and guidance in how we steward it for the years ahead.
