A Verse and Prayer - Aug. 30, 2026

And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. (2 Corinthians 9:8, NLT)

Father God, some days it is hard for me to find even the desire to read your word and pray, nevertheless, I do it. I’m sorry about this. I know that these are ways I get to connect with you, but my soul has felt numb, and I lack the strength to awaken it; but I know you can. Please help me to push past distraction, sorrow, and despair. Lead me instead to places where determination, joy, and life will be found in abundance. Bring me more of you. Create in me a desire for the things of God, for I know they are the truest things. I want to want them. I want to want you. In your son’s name, Amen.

A Verse and Prayer - Aug. 29, 2026

We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. (Hebrews 12:2, NLT)

Dear God, I know you are aware of the chaos within me. I know you see the longing within my heart for you and your presence. Please help me to see where you are. Help me to see you moving and to know that you are with me every step of the way. Help me to leave behind thought patterns and obstacles that make me forget who you really are. Help me to take my eyes off myself and put them back on you. Even though I can’t feel it right now, I know you are there, and I know I can trust you. In Jesus name, Amen.

A Verse and Prayer - Aug. 28, 2026

How much better to get wisdom than gold, and good judgment than silver! (Proverbs 16:16, NLT)

Dear Lord, Thank You for being all-wise and all-knowing. You are the wisest of all. In James 3:17, You tell us, “But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.” God, this is the kind of wisdom that You have offered to us. You are pure in all ways, You are peace-loving, thoughtful, humble, merciful, you do not have favoritism, and you are true. Would You please help us to cling to this kind of wisdom by the power of the Holy Spirit today? Thank you for Your loving care for us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A Verse and Prayer - Aug. 27, 2026

Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the Lord is your strength!” (Nehemiah 8:10b, NLT)

Dear Lord, I can do nothing without You. When my strength falters, I will look to you Lord. You are my strength in every single situation that I am going through. I cling to the promises that you have given me through the words found in the Bible. Lord, I cry out to you through the hardness of my situations. You are my hope, You are my peace. I find my joy in You. Help me to allow the truth of these realities to fill every part of my mind and heart. In your name I pray, Jesus, Amen.

A verse and prayer - Aug. 26, 2026

Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. (James 5:16, NLT)

Lord, I thank you for opportunities to pray for others. I ask that you bring people to my attention who are hurting and are in need. Give me the courage to pray boldly and the words that will resonate in their heart. I pray against fear and insecurity that would cause me to stay silent. Help me to move and speak by your Spirit. I thank you that there is power in prayer and I am believing in you for blessings on behalf of those I pray for. Show up in mighty ways, as you always do. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
