Did you know you can support Hillcrest by donating securities?

Gifts of stocks, bonds, ETFs, and mutual funds (Canadian or U.S.) can be a meaningful way to give. In many cases, donating securities directly can also provide tax benefits compared with selling the investment first and donating the proceeds.

We use the Canadian Centre for Christian Charities (CCCC) platform to facilitate gifts of securities. Please read some Frequently Asked Questions about making a donation like this.

Giving Securities to Hillcrest

To give securities for current ministry/approved projects:

  1. Set up an individual donor account with CCCC here.

  2. CCCC will guide you, or your portfolio manager, through the process of transferring your securities.

  3. CCCC will receive the securities, issue the appropriate charitable tax receipt, and then transfer the proceeds to Hillcrest Church.

Please do not transfer securities directly to Hillcrest. All gifts of securities intended for current ministry projects and general use should be initiated through the CCCC platform so that CCCC can properly receive the gift and issue your charitable tax receipt.

Designating Your Gift

We will do our best to honour any designation or purpose you request for your gift. However, circumstances may arise where a designated purpose is no longer possible, practical, or needed. In these situations, we will follow the guidelines outlined in our Stewardship Policy.

If you have questions about making a gift of securities, please contact our Finance Director.
