Jesus said: You will have____________________. (John 16:33)
Where does Trouble come from?
• the sins and mistakes of ___________________________
• _________________________________sins and mistakes
• the general ___________________________ of our world
Sometimes we ask, God, how can you let this happen?
Job asked this question.
If only I knew where to find God, I would go to his court. I would lay out my case and present my arguments. (Job 23:3–4, NLT)
Brace yourself like a man, because I have some questions for you, and you must answer them. (Job 38:3, NLT)
“I know that you can do anything, and no one can stop you. You asked, ‘Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorance?’ It is I—and I was talking about things I knew nothing about, things far too wonderful for me. (Job 42:2–3, NLT)
I had only heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes. (Job 42:5, NLT)
The key to making it through trouble is in _______________________ and having a _______________________________ in God.
1. God is_________________________________ .
He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. (Colossians 1:17, NLT)
2. God is ________________________ of what you are going through.
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable. (Hebrews 4:13, NLT)
3. God is totally_____________________ .
Taste and see that the LORD is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him! (Psalm 34:8, NLT)
4. The brokenness of the world is something God_______________
___________ , not something ______________________________.
God is fixing the world through___________.
God is fixing the world through____________________.
God is doing all of this while allowing for __________________.
5. God is able to work out our __________________ for His overall _______________________.
Then Jesus said, “You would have no power over me at all unless it were given to you from above. (John 19:11a, NLT)
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. (Romans 8:28, NLT)
God is using everything that happens to us in life
— the good, the bad, the ugly –
to mold us and shape us into the image of Jesus.
6. God does not use Trouble to _____________________________.
• Luke 13:4
• John 9:2
• Matthew 5:5
So how can we face Trouble and still thrive?
1. ___________________ – even when you don’t understand.
2. Hold on to a_____________________________________.
Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. (Romans 8:18, NLT)
3. Choose __________________over _____________________
Resignation says; “_____________________________!”
Acceptance says, “In what _____________________________can God use this?”
